Huge influx of returnees from Ethiopian IDPs Camps

Khartoum – Blue Nile State has witnessed the voluntary return of 220 Sudanese IDPs from Ethiopia camps where they were received by the members of the voluntary return technical committee at Wad Al-Mahi Locality on the bordering line with Ethiopia.  The returnees were received by Wad Al-Mahi Locality Commissioner, Mohammed Al-Jailani, head of Blue Nile Chieftains, Al-Fateh Adlan, HAC Commissioner at the Blue Nile, Abdul Moniem Abbas besides representatives of the regular forces.
Head of Blue Nile Chieftains expressed his happiness for the return of the citizens to their home villages which coincides with the Independence anniversary, affirming that 2019 will witness stability in all axes, pointing out that the local administration will exert all efforts to resolve the problems of the returnees to enable them practice their normal life.
HAC commissioner in the Blue Nile State affirmed that the Sudanese government is following up the influx of the refugees starting from their humanitarian conditions till they arrive to their home villages, besides providing all their needs. For his part, returnees’ representative Al-Amin abbashar expressed their happiness to return to their home villages calling on the government to intervene to rescue the Sudanese national in Tango camps which is surrounded by Oromo rebels who refused the access of humanitarian access to the camp.
One of the female returnees called for providing education to their kids who suffered a lot in the refugees’ camps. Wad Al-Mahi Locality Commissioner welcomed the returnees, pointing out to the government’s efforts to provide a conducive environment which leads to the stability of the returnees through providing the basic requirements including education, health, water and seeds.
He called on the returnees to reflect the bright image for their brothers in the camps and the effort exerted by the government for their settlement.
The chief of the technical committee provide foodstuff to the returnees represented by sorghum, edible oil, beans, salt and shelters.
