Khartoum- Minister of Oil, Gas and Minerals, Geologist Consultant, Azhari Abudul Gadir Abdallah, affirmed that it is the appropriate time for investment in Sudan, pointing out to that Sudan has overcome the negative impacts of the economic sanctions for two decades. This came when he addressed the press conference held yesterday to declare the completion of arrangements for hosting the 4th Sudan International Mining Forum and Business Exhibition (SIMFE 2019), scheduled to take place the period from 18th -20th January 2019 in Khartoum. The SIMFE will be held with participation of more than 75 national, regional and international giant companies representing 40 States, in mining sector particularly in Gold.
The minister of oil gas and minerals shed light on the mining activity in Sudan, saying it is high time for Sudan to attract more foreign investment, He explained that the 4th SIMFE as an annual forum will organize in the Sudan for the fourth time pointed to the great benefits than Sudan had obtained since the organizing of the first SIMFE in Khartoum. He noted to exchanging of experiences in the mining field, besides training and capacity building pointed to the long rich experiences of the participated companies, as Canada and South Africa , in addition to the expected one from Australia.
The minister described the 4th SIMFE as an opportunity for Sudan to show its potentials, mining resources and capabilities in Gold mining discuss and exchange experiences with these companies, pointed to the high level representation of mining ministers from the worldwide. He added the SIMFE will discuss many working papers, beside deliberating and discussion sessions beside the international exhibition where the national, regional and international companies reflect their experiences in mining sector.
