Khartoum- President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir and the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Shiekh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held a summit meeting in Doha yesterday to discuss ways and means of boosting the fraternal relations linking the two countries besides regional and international developments. The talks were held at the Amiri Diwan in Doha and tackled developments in Sudan.
President Al Bashir briefed the Emir of the State of Qatar on developments in the Sudan and the challenges the country faces as Shiekh Tamim affirmed the unshakable stance of the State of Qatar in its keenness on the unity and stability of the Sudan.The two leaders also discussed progress of the peace process in Darfur as President Al Bashir appreciated the Qatari efforts for boosting it. The talks were attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the President of the Republic and a number of the Qatari ministers. President Al Bashir arrived in the Qatari capital of Doha on Tuesday on a two-day official visit.
