Al Fashir / Khartoum- The government of North Darfur State has launched, in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), construction work in five main bridges in Al Fashir town, with funding amounting to 350,000 dollars by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD).
Addressing the launching ceremony, the Governor of North Darfur State, Al Sharief Mohamed Abbad, said construction of the bridges constitutes a new addition to the process of development in the state, noting that the bridges would be linked with paved roads to ease the movement of the citizens.
The governor reiterated that the state would press ahead with implementation of its plans that aim at enhancing services that are provided to the citizens.
Minister of Infrastructure and Physical Development in the state Hassan Mahgoub Al Fadhil, on his part, said the bridges aim at linking the various parts of the town to ease traffic during the rainy season.
