NEPAD Plans to Support Projects Linking the Continent

Khartoum – President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir briefed on the plans for the transformation of the New Partnership for Development (NEPAD) to the African Union Development Agency.
During his meeting in Addis Ababa on the sidelines of the African Union Ordinary Summit, with NEPAD Chief Executive Officer, Ibrahim Mayaki, the President was briefed on the projects that the agency intends to support and study, which is projects are to link the continent and the projects that Sudan will enjoy within the integration projects
Professor Mayaki said, in a press statement after the meeting, “I was honored to meet with the President, and the objective of the meeting was to inform him of the transformation of the NEPAD Agency to the African Union Development Agency, and I expressed to the President our appreciation for the support that Sudan has provided to NEPAD as an active member and our readiness to support the Sudan, taking in our consideration the President’s directives to focus on the projects linking the African countries
For his part, General Supervisor of the National Secretariat of NEPAD, Abdul Moneim Al Sunni said that Al-Bashir directed to follow-up all that presented by the Chief Executive Officer of NEPAD, especially regarding the projects that the agency intends to implement in Sudan, adding, “We welcome the visit of the Chief Executive Officer to Sudan so that we can complete the arrangements of projects that we raised and related to the infrastructure and linkage with neighboring countries.
