UNIDO to Conduct Comprehensive Survey to Identify Sudan Industrial Requirements

Khartoum- The Sudanese Government and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) have agreed on importance of conducting comprehensive survey to identify the requirement of the industrial sectors in the country prior to extension of UNIDO projects.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Al Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed discussed with UNIDO Director General Li Yong on the sidelines of the ministerial conference of the 62nd session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna the important cooperation projects which are implemented by UNIDO in the Sudan in the field of industrial development.
The two sides affirmed importance of working to increase the number of these projects through a country program that covers the strategic sectors such as projects of agro-industry, renewable energy and industrial parks.
The UNIDO Director General expressed thanks for the minister for the meeting and his concern with consolidation of relations with the organization of which Sudan is one of its important partners.
