Khartoum – General Director of the National Security and Intelligence Service (NISS), First Lieutenant General Salah Abdullah Gosh said that the new decisions taken by the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, recently came to preserve the country’s national security and the cohesion of the home front.
Gosh presented to the delegation of the US Congress, visiting the country these days, an explanation of the reasons of the President’s decisions. He assured the delegation that the protests witnessed by the country are legitimate according to the law and the constitution, but their goals have changed, indicating to the role of the state in preserving security and safety of citizens according to procedures.
The two sides insured on fighting terrorism and renounce violence. They also discussed the importance of cooperation between the Sudanese government and the US administration in a number of political, economic and security fields.
The meeting also tackled the importance of the relations between Khartoum and Washington and how to develop and support them for the interest of the two peoples.
