Foreign Ministry: 850 Million Euro European Support to Peace in CAR

Khartoum-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has disclosed that the European Commission in Brussels has announced extending a sum of 850 million euro to Central Africa Republic (CAR), in support of the peace agreement that had been signed in Khartoum.
Director of CAR Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mohamed Yousuf said in a statement that the African Union (AU) had invited the parties to the conflict in CAR for a meeting in Addis Ababa to discuss removal of the obstacles facing implementation of the peace agreement, pointing out that the meeting stressed importance of support by the partners for expediting implementation of the peace agreement in CAR.
Ambassador Yousuf indicated that the European Commission organized a symposium mid this month with the participation of the partners that underscored importance of provision of technical and financial support pertinent to the security arrangements and building capacities of the Armed Forces of CAR besides extending support by the European side amounting to 850 million euro for supporting the peace agreement that was reached in Khartoum recently.
