Khartoum -The governor of the Central Bank of Sudan Hussein Yahiya Jungool has presented an explanation to the liquidity situation before the parliament on Tuesday.
The governor attributed that to the high demand of cash withdrawing has caused liquidity scarcity in banks since last year.
Hussein pointed to the efforts exerted by the CBOS to provide banknotes.
“In 2018 the bank issue 47.7 billion SDGs” said the governor of the bank who added that the current amount is much more than what is issued in the previous two years.
“by the end of the first quarter of the fiscal year 2019, the bank has signed an agreement with concerned bodies to issue a new banknotes of 100-200-500 and 1000 banknotes will be provided to solve the liquidity crisis.
