The CBOS (Central Bank of Sudan) will issue a SDG: 1,000 bank notes soon and it will be ready for circulation next July to reduce the volume of bank notes circulations; this was disclosed by the CBOS Governor Hussein Yahya Jangoul in a statement in the National Assembly. Adding that from last year up to March-2019, SDG: 47.7 billion bank notes have been issued and circulated. He stressed on that the bank will continue improving the supply and demand management process and attributed the shortage in liquidity to the unmoral cash withdrawals and since then the CBOS is exerting efforts to address this challenge by the provision of bank notes according to the needs of the national economy.
He informed the Assembly that the inflation rate have reached 62.3 percent at the end of 2019 while the planned target was 19 percent. Same time the foreign debt have reached $ 50 billion of which $ 30.3 billion are debts arrears while the foreign reserves at the end of 2018 was $ 1.44 Billion.
