UNIDO to Implement Sesame Crop Project

Khartoum – United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to implement value chain project for sesame crops in North Kordofan and Gedaref, at a cost of $ 904,000, and will be completed within three years, and launched in the coming months
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Abdul Rahman Ajab reviewed with the visiting UNIDO delegation areas of bilateral cooperation between the Ministry and UNIDO in all sectors.
The Under-Secretary commended UNIDO’s efforts in developing the industrial sectors in the Sudan, expressing willingness to cooperate fully with UNIDO in order to complete the project, pointing to the importance of the oil industry as one of the important strategic industries and that it is one of the reliable industries in the economic and social sustainable development in bridging the gap in the Arab world and neighboring countries, noting that the design capacities of modern oils estimated at 2.3 million tons of Oilseeds per year, while the country’s annual consumption is estimated at 200-250,000 tons of edible oils.
