Khartoum- Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Military Council (TMC) 1st. Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has expressed appreciation of the council of the support being extended by the European Union (EU) to Sudan.
The Deputy Chairman of TMC affirmed when he receives the envoy of the EU at the Republican Palace Sunday the desire of Sudan to enhance its relations with the EU on clear strategic bases.
He presented a briefing to the European envoy on the current political developments in Sudan, affirming keenness of the TMC to hand over power to a civilian government and working for reaching an agreement with all political forces.
The Deputy Chairman of TMC reviewed during the meeting the role of Sudan in combating terrorism, illegal migration and human trafficking.
The EU envoy commended the big role played by the Armed Forces of preventing bloodshed through siding with the option of the Sudanese people.
He explained that the EU would adopt a neutral stance towards all parties and support the option of the people concerning the transitional government.
The envoy called on the TMC to continue its missions and its positive role in enhancing peace and stability during the current stage.
