Khartoum – Al-Neel Network for Electronic Media revealed on Thursday that an exemption was granted to some companies to transport their production of gold by aircraft and that this procedure is in place and under the control of the competent authorities, where the shipment of gold is done in the presence of an observer of the Sudanese Company for Mining and procedures involving four parties, economic security, airport security, and mining company controller, besides the site manager.
It is to be note that these companies had requested protection from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), where this protection was provided. The seizure of a plane belonging to a Moroccan company in Sudan with a large amount of gold on it caused a major controversy.
An official from the Moroccan mining company denied the news that linked the issue with smuggling of gold, noting that it is about sending some documents on the necessary permits.
It is to be noted that the Moroccan company has been in Sudan since 2006 and started the production and export of gold since 2009 in legal ways.
