Focus On Rapid Support Forces (RSF)

Khartoum-The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are Sudanese forces paramilitary forces operated by the Sudanese Government. It operates for technical and administrative purposes. During military operations they are commanded by the Sudanese Armed Forces. These forces (called in Arabic Quwat El Da’m El Saree) , are under the command of Sudanese Armed Forces Ground Troops. They were attached to the former Sudanese President al Bashir who ruled 30 years regime which came to an end after the Youth revolution kicked off in all parts of Sudan on 19th December 2018.
The RSF as regular troops was established in 2013 specially to fight armed rebel groups throughout Sudan. Members of the RSF have been issued NISS identity cards. These IDs ensure them immunity under the National Security Services Act of 2010. In January 2015, a constitutional amendment gave the RSF the status of ‘regular force’.
The forces was commanded on the ground by Brig. General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, commonly known in Sudan as Hemeti. Hemeti was a former Border Guard Commander. The members of the RSF who are now about 164,000 members are working under the leadership of 1St Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemeti), Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Military Council who took power on 11th April 2019 ending the 30 years regime of the former AL Bashir .
The members of the RSF have drawn from paramilitary forces, notably the Border Guards.
1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo ( Hemeti ), commander of the RSF, an affiliate to the Sudanese Army decided to be at the side of the youth revolution and demonstrators since day one . Observers described this step as courageous step supporting the youth revolution. After his appointment as deputy chairman of the TMC, Hemeti and his forces of the RSF are still playing a distinctive role in realizing peace, security and stability in harmony for the sake of all Sudanese people.
Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is one of the strongest Sudanese forces, well trained in fighting techniques, high trained to use the developed kinds of weapons, military machines and equipment. Most of the RSP members are young youth not less than 30 years old.
