Khartoum- Farmers at the irrigated agricultural schemes in the country have called on the Transitional Military Council to give due concern to the success of the agricultural season.
Farmer Al Amin Abdel-Rhman of Rahad Agricultural Scheme indicated that the process of cultivation is made according to specific timing to complete the preparation for cultivation of the various crops, pointing out that the farmers have not yet received protection inputs, top of them fuel.
He also pointed to absence of a body to map out plans for the success of the agricultural season.
Mohamed Abdel-Rahim, a farmer at the Gezira Scheme, spoke of the absence of the bodies that represent the farmers, thus their voice is not heard, saying that any delays would harm the process of cultivation of crops.
