Khartoum- Secretary of Labor Relations at the Sudan Workers Trade Unions Federation (SWTUF) Khairi Al-Nur Ali has said that the federation rejects the general strike and civil disobedience, indicating that strike is governed by certain terms according to the International Labor Organization.
The SWTUF official said in a press statement that the trade unionist movement had faced many circumstances in the past, but the international laws prevent stopping work of the trade unions except after end of their terms, indicating that whoever implement an illegal strike is subject to accountability, which varies according to the laws.
He said the general strike harms the interests of the people.
He considered ending suspension of the work of the professional trade unions and associations as a correct step that would serve the interests of the workers.
