The leaders of the so-called the freedom and change declaration thought that they could force the military transitional council to surrender to them the rule of Sudan by organizing a “civil disobedience”. Their calculations were absolutely wrong. They didn’t realize the meanings of the matter. They didn’t calculate their strength and the strength of the ruling transitional military council carefully. They “overestimated” their power and on the other hand they “underestimated” the power and capabilities of their opponent, the military council. They ignored the power of the Sudanese people who are strongly against them. The people of Sudan don’t trust the freedom and change. On the contrary, they trust the military council. They didn’t explore what making a civil disobedience means. They didn’t calculate the consequences of making such a big move. They didn’t know that the civil disobedience is a “double edged” weapon! If you use it and it fails, that is it. You are finished. This is exactly what happened to the freedom and change people. They planted failure and harvested failure. From day one it was obvious that things were not going in their favor. The services were normal. The bakeries were working. The gas stations were working normally. The transportation was as regular as could be. The airport was working as usual. Tens of flights departed and tens of flights landed at Khartoum Airport. Electricity was normal. Water supply was normal. What else? The cooking gas stations were providing their services to the public. Convoys of buses operated from the far states carrying Eid goers who spent their holidays with their families back to the capital. People went to their work as usual. The banks operated providing services to their clients. The central bank of Sudan and its branches in the eighteen states operated normally. The markets operated as expected. These are the criterion of the success or failure of a civil disobedience. The leaders of the freedom and change got the shock of their lives. They didn’t realize that the civil disobedience is not a “joke”. It is a dangerous weapon. The civil disobedience is good only when you “brandish” it. Don’t use it. It is like a “plastic pistol”. Threaten with it, but don’t use it. If you use it and it didn’t fire, it will “backfire” on you. That will be your end! I have no tear to shed on the freedom and change leaders. Sorry! There is “no condolence” for them.
