Khartoum – Chairman of the Social Committee of the Transitional Military Council (TMC), First Lieutenant General Pilot Salah Al-Din Abdul Khaliq revealed the most prominent points of disagreement between the council and the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC), pointing out that the agreement on percentages and numbers is not final.
Abdul Khaliq said, in a statement to UAE Al-Bayan newspaper that the military council does not seek power, and that its presence is necessitated due to security threats, especially in the presence of eight armies and 47 rebel movements in Darfur alone, stressing that the mission of the council is to maintain the national security of Sudan, saying the power could not be without the participation of the military.
On the other hand, Abdul Khaliq met, here yesterday, the Reform and Good offices Organization and Amal Organization for Care of Patients and Rehabilitation of Disabled in the framework of efforts to bring the views of the political forces to reach a political agreement on the next phase.
Head of the Reform and Good Offices Organization, Mirghani Ahmed Abdullah Akoud said, in a press statement, that the chairman of the social committee was briefed during the meeting on the nature of the formation of the organization, and its activities in the country, pointing out that the organization includes in its membership wise people and community leaders in all states of Sudan.
He said that the organization stands at the same distance from the negotiating parties, pointing out that the organization listened, during the meeting, to the council view on the political solution and will meet with Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC) and other forces in order to present a vision contributes to a political solution.
