NISS Aborts Weapons Smuggling Operation

Khartoum- A force of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) has aborted a smuggling operation of great quantities of weapons and ammunition loaded in a vehicle on its way to Eastern Nile Locality in Khartoum State and Al Boutanah plains coming from Kordofan states.
Director of NISS Information Department Maj. Gen. Abdul-Gadir Hassan said a force of NISS was able to seize the vehicle loaded with the weapons, which include Garanov and Kalashnikov weapons and a quantity of ammunitions.
Maj. Gen. Hassan affirmed readiness of NISS to confront all attempts that threaten the security and safety of the citizens and combat all forms of organized crime including human trafficking and smuggling of weapons.
He lauded the existing coordination between NISS and the security and military organs in the country, calling on the citizens to report immediately any suspicious movements in their areas to serve the security of the Sudan.
