Khartoum- The Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Military Council (TMC), 1st. Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, has paid a visit to the personnel of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), who were wounded in the incidents of the June 30 procession in Khartoum and admitted to Al Amal Hospital.
1st. Lt. Gen. Daglo said it is the duty of the TMC to protect the demonstrators and all the citizens, stressing the importance of providing security to all the Sudanese people and affirming the importance of the partnership between the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC), all components of the Sudanese people and the TMC.
The TMC Deputy Chairman stressed the importance of realizing the goals of the Revolution and the aspirations of the youths who came out for the change, saying that in case of continuation of tension and escalation from the side of FFC, the council would form a government of competencies to manage the affairs of the country.
Daglo affirmed that the TMC is committed to the negotiations and against exclusion of any party, reiterating welcome of the council to the African mediation, calling for reaching an agreement speedily as the country could not afford any more delay.
Meanwhile, the FFC has announced that it would not hold direct negotiations with the TMC, declaring continuation of the escalation, saying that it would stage a new procession on the 13th. and 14th. of current July to demand handing over of power to the civilians, indicating that the TMC is sticking to permanent chairmanship of the Sovereignty Council.
They said they had made some remarks on the African initiative and called for setting specific duration of time for the negotiations.
