Finance Ministry Renews its Commitment to Rationalize Government Spending


Khartoum – The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning has reiterated its commitment to rationalize government spending and strengthen commitment to the fiscal year 2019 goals and directives in controlling and rationalizing spending. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Abdul-Moniem Mohamed Al-Tayib revealed, in a limited statement to the press at the ministry premises Monday, a reduction of the steering item in a number of ministries and government units during the past two months in the context of rationalization of government spending in response to the requirements of economic current status, pointing out that the Ministry of Finance approved scheduling of disbursement according to the priorities in order to be able to provide the necessary needs, the most important of which are medicines.
Dr. Al-Tayib vowed to improve the level of government spending when the flow of resources increased, stressing the development of the tools used in collecting public revenues of the state, which reflected positively on the active contribution of the General Administration of Customs, the Tax Chamber, public institutions and government companies a matter that enabled the ministry to pay July salary and Eid Al-Adha grant for the workers at the time before the end of the month. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance praised the efforts of the Central Bank of Sudan in providing banknotes and facilitating the timely receipt of all employee dues in cash, revealing the efforts and endeavors of the ministry and the concerned authorities to provide the country’s need of wheat and medicines and contribution to the stability of electricity.
