Half Million Tons of Wheat from UAE and Saudi Arabia to Sudan

Khartoum – The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have provided 540,000 tons of wheat to meet the basic food needs of the Sudanese people for three months as a first phase.
Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development affirmed that the food support provided to the Sudanese people comes under the directives of the leaderships of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, for their keenness to ensure the provision of food needs of the Sudanese people.
Al-Suwaidi said that the leadership of the two countries is keen to provide all forms of support so that Sudan can overcome the difficult circumstances in order to reach economic stability and achieve food security, pointing out that the aid package comes from the brotherly ties that unite the Sudanese people with the UAE and Saudi peoples.
Wheat supplied to Sudan comes as part of a $ 3 billion aid package approved by Saudi Arabia and the UAE in April 2019 to support Sudan’s economic and financial stability..
