Ministry of Industry: Cooperatives Will Resolve the Economical Problems of Sudan

Khartoum – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Eng. Abdul Rahman Ajab said, while addressing the opening session of the workshop on activating cooperative movement in Sudan organized by Al-Afaf Cooperative at the Ministry’s premises, that the cooperatives represent one of the solutions of the Sudanese economy, pointing out to the importance of transforming the cooperatives from consuming societies to productive organizations especially in the field of edible oil industrialization, adding that the Ministry has conducted a comprehensive survey for all the cooperative societies to provide the data for reviving the cooperative societies in the country.
For her part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of al-AFaf Cooperative Foundation, Dr. Samia Abdul Hafeez that the Foundation was established in 2005 as a cooperative initiative with different conception aiming at achieving social security and the Sustainable Development Goals, affirming that the initiative was applied in 8 states.
