Arab League Pledges to Exert Effort to Write-off Sudan Foreign Debts

Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmed Abul Geit arrived in Khartoum in one-day official visit during which he will meet President of the Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok and Foreign Minister Asma’a Mohammed Abdallah.
Abul Geit is accompanied by the Arab League Food Security and Arab Affairs Assistant Secretary-Genral, Ambassador Khalil Al-Zuwadi, Horn of Africa and Sudan Administer Director, Zaid Al-Saban and Consultant Jamal Rushdi from the office of the AL Secretary General.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Asma’a Mahmoud briefed the visiting delegation on the developments in Sudan and the arrangements of the transitional period, expressing satisfaction of the role of the Arab League in supporting Sudan, adding that Sudan is endevouring to achieve Arab food security through the Arab League projects.
For his part, Abul Geit affirmed the Arab League support to the transitional government in Sudan, expressing their readiness to exert all possible efforts to write-off Sudan foreign debts.
Prime Minister, Dr. Abdallah Hamdok affirmed Sudan’s keenness to play an effective and constructive role in the framework of the joint Arab activities.
