Livestock Chamber Reveals Moves to Overcome Exportation Crisis

Khartoum – North East Africa Livestock Council (NEALCO) and chairman of livestock emergency room, Dr. Khalid Al-Magboul said that the hasty announcement of the Federal Ministry of Health on the suspicion of the existence of Rift Valley Fever (RVF) resulted to the suspension of livestock a matter that affected negatively the Sudanese economy estimated to US$1 billion besides the indirect damages amounted to about US$3 billion along affecting the producers, exporters and all the related sectors as transportation and banks.
Al-Magboul stated to Sudan Vision that the stakeholders called on the chamber to come out from the crisis and supporting the affected people.
He added that they met with the Minister of Animal Resources, Minister of Tradeto discuss the mean of dealing with the crisis, adding that they will continue the efforts to report the issue to the Council of Ministers and the Sovereign Council.
