Khartoum – First Vice President of Sovereign Council, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo headed to the Eritrean capital Asmara on a one-day official visit.
Sovereign Council member, Lieutenant General Shams Al-Din Al-Kabbashi said in a statement that the visit comes within the framework of consultations on efforts to achieve peace in Sudan.
He said that the delegation is headed by a member of the Supreme Peace Council, First Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, and included Lieutenant General Yassir Al-Atta, Raja Nicola, besides a minister from the councilof ministers.
He said that a similar visit will be made by members of the delegation to the Chadian capital N’Djamena mid-week to meet with Chadian President Idriss Deby.
Asmara and Khartoum hope to end the Cold War era caused by the policies of the ousted regime of Al-Bashir.
